A methodological and technological system for 3D stratigraphic documentation integrated into Blender.

Tool

The Extended Matrix Framework elevates traditional Harris Matrix principles by incorporating 3D spatial relationships directly into the documentation process. By enabling researchers to model complex stratigraphy within Blender, the framework supports precise temporal–spatial reconstructions of archaeological sites. When combined with StratiGraph’s semantic infrastructure, these 3D stratigraphic matrices become interconnected, queryable components of the Knowledge Graph, enriching interpretation and ensuring long-term data reuse.
